SUMMARY: 
In this third film in the "Pirates" series, Captain Jack Sparrow's (Johnny Depp) friends must rescue him from the underworld and unite with all the Pirate Lords to fight against their foes, Lord Cutler Beckett and Davey Jones, who want to wipe out all pirates.

In this third film in the "Pirates" series, Captain Jack Sparrow's (Johnny Depp) friends must rescue him from the underworld and unite with all the Pirate Lords to fight against their foes, Lord Cutler Beckett and Davey Jones, who want to wipe out all pirates.  "At World's End" contains extensive frightening and gruesome images, and culminates in a final fight that includes stabbing, torture, and death.  The film also contains sexual innuendo and some crude language.

What reviewers are saying about Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End:
Sandie Angulo Chen of Common Sense Media cautions, "Parents need to know that this installment of the Pirates franchise is packed with more death, action, and violence than most superhero flicks -- from the grim opening sequence in which Caribbean civilians (including a young boy) are led to the gallows to the climactic swashbuckling showdown."

Variety's Brian Lowry comments, "That questions of life and death are somewhat fungible here helps mitigate the high level of carnage, which includes a mass hanging sequence at the outset, as Beckett wages a reign of terror in seeking to bring the pirates to heel."

Jeffery Overstreet of Christianity Today writes, "The previous Pirates movies have shown a flair for the grotesque, and this time, they pull out all the stops...And the film's mad revelry in violence reaches troubling extremes. After the opening scene of a child being hanged, impalings and shootings come at a dizzying rate."
